Hooter!

Hope everyone has and a good week!

We have been keeping busy as ususal.

Friday was a school day... but it was beautiful, so as soon as I had collected them all, we headed to the playground!

Smile for the camera Grady!

Yes, I know he has blue lips... one of the classes sells snowcones on Fridays to raise money for a field trip.
He likes the blue one!

This was the only shot I could get of Grant.... he kept running in the other direction!
Typical....

After about an hour at the PG... we picked up Dat Dat.

And he introduced us to Hooter.
Yes, that is a real owl.
We took this photo on Friday and this past Monday we got the unfortunate news that Hooter had gotten caught in the barbed wire fence that surrounds Dat Dat's office.  Luckily someone saw him and got him to the vet.  They though he might have a broken wing and need surgery but thank goodness no.... He has some damage to his muscle and has been moved to a rehab location.

Let me tell you though, this photo does not do him justice... He is huge and beautiful!

After meeting Hooter....
It was time to go to the beach!

At one point, Grant decided that he had had enough of looking at  birds, and he needed to catch a seagull.
Good Luck Grant!

Then we headed over the dune to the Gulf side and found this floating in the water....

Apparently no one knows what it is.
Odd that today is the one year anniversary of the Deep Water Horizon Explosion.
Wouldn't be the first thing washed up on our shores from the spill...

We had lots of fun and are looking forward to spending a couple of days at the beach this weekend!
Saturday also meant soccer...
Todd was goalie for his team.

It was a good game and he made a couple of good stops.

I left the camera in the car for Grady's game.
It was eventful.
Not for a good reason.
Dat Dat "ain't" happy.
I will tell you about it later.

Who turned up the heat?

Saturday, Grady and the Gators had a soccer game...
at 11:30.

They dominated.

Here are a few photos from the game.

By the way, I think we may have skipped Spring.

Summer anyone?

On to the photos...

No idea what he is doing here.

Just being cute.

Chasing the ball.

Todd Jr under an umbrella reading.
Good for him!

Grady, leading the charge!

Smile.

Waiting for the ball to be thrown in.

Go GATORS!!!

Rescue Mission

Monday morning, Grant and I went for a walk in our neighborhood.

Along the way, we found a very curious creature.
Yes, a hermit crab.
He was just walking along the shoulder of our street.
Grant was so excited.
And after a conversation with Dat Dat...
We decided that we needed to get him "home."

Now, I can only imagine that he must have made his way to our "hood" having hitched a ride with someone back from the beach this weekend.
Now, while we live very close to the water.... um, it is just a little too far for Henry to have come here on his own.

Henry?
Watched "The Other Boelyn Girl" yesterday.
Nevermind.

We brought Henry to the house for the rest of the day...
Grant and I figured Grady and Todd would want to be in on the excitement.

I want to remind you that Grant and I set out with the best of intentions...
But, I also need to remind you that I have a degree in English Literature and Public Relations...
NOT Biology.

Again, best of intentions.
I put him in some water.
I think that may have been a bad idea.
It was tap water.
Um, Nat, you live on the Gulf Coast.... it is salty!!!!!

Yea, I realized before we went to pick up Todd Jr that he may not make it.
Anyway, we took Henry with us to Todd's Soccer practice.

Cool place for soccer practice, huh?

And we put Henry in the water.

And, nothing happened.

Sorry Henry.

We tried.

Probably should have left him on the side of the road.

Just don't tell the boys!

MeMe to the Rescue!

In what feels like a recurring theme in the Harris Home...
Last Friday was spent on the road, traveling to a Dr. appoinment in Pensacola!

Yes, for Grady.
He is fine and the Dr. is very pleased with his numbers.
His A1C had not changed.
So, with the insulin, we will continue.
I sound like Yoda.

Luckily Meme is always willing to jump in at the drop of a hat and arrived Wednesday to watch Grant and shuttle Todd from school so that Dat Dat could go with us.

Thank you MeMe!
Thursday night was also soccer.
Todd Jr had a game and we were so glad MeMe was here to see it!
Unfortunately, I have no photos of Todd Jr.  He was goalie, way down at the other end and then the second half all the action was down there.
But he played very well.

Dat Dat and Grady checking out Grady's new medical alert bands.
He has a soccer one and a lizard one!

And Grant.... on his way back from his twentieth time going to the potty.

He thought it was a game.
No, Grant.... we are trying to WATCH a game... not play how many times can you use the public toilet!!!!
Geez!

Again, thanks MeMe and thank you for these...

You know how much I love Tulips!!!!

Shout Out!

Todd Jr and his parents want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to Uncle Cory!
He has agreed to run with Todd Jr in the Disney 5k during the Marathon Weekend in January.

However, as Aunt Grace pointed out, Cory has a big decision to make.
Train, beat Todd Jr and be the ridicule of the family for having "beat up" on a 10 year old.
or...
Train, let Todd Jr beat him and be the ridicule of the family for letting a 10 year old beat him.

Quite the dilemma.

Good luck either way Cory.

... and thanks again:)

"Golf" World

Grady is so excited!
Dat Dat is going with him on his field trip in May.

He told me "Mommy, when Daddy and I go to Golf World, I am gonna hit the ball so hard!"
It took me a second and then I laughed uncontrollably!!!

They're going to Gulf World ...
Oh, Grady!

Field Trip and Soccer, Soccer, Soccer!

Okay, let me start by saying, no, I have not forgotten about Grady's Birthday.
However, the photos are on our computer, the one with the monitor that does not work.
This necessitated the acquisition of a new computer!  Woo Hoo!!!
However, we gotta find a way to get the old photos off.
So, we will celebrate with Grady later.

On Friday, Grant and I went with Grady and his Pre-K class on a field trip!

It was a trip to a local playground near Tyndall Air Force Base.
We had lots of fun and tossed lots of sticks and rocks into the water.

Grady with his "dude," Kaleb.
I realized a couple of days before the trip that at least for the next couple of years, Dat Dat or myself will have to go on his field trips with him... at least if they are during a meal.
I will be going with him to the strawberry farm in a couple of weeks and Dat Dat is going to Gulf World with him in May.
Isn't Diabetes fun?
Actually, it is fun going on the field trips.

Saturday arrived very early with an 8:30am game.
Todd Jr was Goalie for the 2nd half.

He loved it.
But I think his talents lie on the field in the action!

Then we were back at the fields at 2:30 for Grady's Game!!!
Unfortunately, I had to leave at half time to go to work, but Dat Dat said the rest of the game was really good!
