The First Day of First Grade.... well sorta...

Yes, today was the first day of First Grade for Todd Jr. However, at about 11 am this morning, I got a call from the office.... Todd Jr had "a protein spill" (that's what we used to call it at Walt Disney World). So, after a short wait to see if he felt better, I was on my way to pick him up. Dat Dat and I really think his nerves got the better of him. Anyway, he is taking a nap right now!
Well, even though today was not very successful, we had a fun weekend. On Friday night, we went on the Sea Dragon Pirate Cruise to celebrate Todd Jr's friend, Sean, birthday. Wow! It was so much fun, from the moment we were on deck, the kids were completely entertained... there was a water fight with another boat... Todd and his friend were COMPLETELY SOAKED... they had to mop the deck as you can see here...
There was face painting and even sword fighting! Grady does not look particularly pleased in this photo, but really he did have a great time and was disappointed when his moustache was gone the next day. However, he, Todd Jr and Dat Dat still have their pirate tattoos to show!
Grant even had a great time, he watched for dolphins and really loved watching all the other kids running around.

The cruise was at 5:30 so we even got to see the sunset and a full moon rising! After the cruise, we went out to dinner and all the kids were passed out by the time we got home... as many of you know, I am a huge stickler for a bath EVERY night. But, Grady was so out of it that I was afraid to set him in the tub, so he got a sponge bath and pjs and off to bed. Grant even slept until 8:30 the next morning! Fun was definitily had by all!!!!
PS... Happy Belated Birthday to Aunt Susan!!!!

Now this is Entertainment!

There is never a dull moment in the Harris house! Grady and Todd were getting down to the music this afternoon. Grady has also really taking a liking to the new Kid Rock song and loves to sing along "Alabena!"

Football practice has been going okay. Unfortunately we did not make it out of the first night with pads without shedding a few tears. Yesterday though, after Dat Dat saved the day with some rib pads, it went off with out a hitch! However, the biggest excitement was the addition of a new player to Todd Jr's team... A Pygmy Rattlesnake... yes, a rattlesnake... let's just say the new player got "cut" from the team immediately... if you know what I mean.

Suited up!

Here is Todd Jr. all decked out in his practice uniform... He was so excited about it he spent a couple of hours on Saturday running around in all his gear... Speaking of Saturday, it was Todd Jr's first soccer game of the season... His team, the Fireballs, won 10 to 1. Todd did not score any goals but he had two great saves as goalie!!! Go FIREBALLS!!!

I wanted to add this cute photo of little Grant... He was such a mess... I had to rinse him and then let the water out so he could actually get a proper bath! Those biter biscuits are great but you have to be prepared for the aftermath! OH! FINALLY!!!! On Saturday night in a mess of turkey dinner mush and formula spit up Grant said "MAMA!" Unfortunately, non of the other boys were present for the momentous occasion.

The "HOT NOW" Light was ON!!!!!

So then, who could possibly resist!!! Actually Dat Dat made the suggestion after we had a great visit/report from the ENT. At this time, Grady's ears are fine... the left tube is basically out, however the right one is holding strong... But the best part is that both ears are clear!!! Yipee!!! I am not sure we have ever had such a good ear report!

So, we ended up at Krispy Kreme... just to celebrate! For those of you who have the unfortunate circumstance of living without a Krispy Kreme, I truly feel for you. The one time I actually saw part of Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, he was going on about "what is the big deal about a Krispy Kreme?" Well, he has never had one fresh off the conveyor belt, with a dip in the deep fat fryer, having flipped half way thru and then a bath in sugary goodness... Yummy!!! (As you can tell from the look on Grady and Todd's faces)

Now Grant was in attendance and even got a hat as well. However, he is still not quite old enough to join in the sinfulness of a Krispy Kreme...

So, he decided to take matters into his own hands and eat his hat... well, Krispy Kreme is written on it... Sorry Grant... give it a few more months...

Football Season has arrived!!!

Honestly, I don't know if this picture does the amount of dirt that was on this boy justice.
Yes, football practice started for Todd Jr. yesterday, Todd Sr. has ordered his Sunday ticket, Fantasy Football emails are clogging up our computer, and football is all the buzz on our daily dose of ESPN... Football season has arrived!!!
Go Gators, Go Lions, Go Lynn Haven Raiders (Todd Jr's football team)!
On a side note, while the boy might not look that dirty, you should see the ring around the tub he left behind.
